"We won't abandon our achievements… Tishrin Dam is red line"

The people of North and East Syria continue to organize sit-ins and popular protests in support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and to defend their achievements against Turkish occupation attacks. Since January 8, the popular sit-in at Tishrin Dam has been ongoing, with convoys arriving from various areas of the North and East Syria region.

From Hasaka to Tishrin Dam… Resistance is life

On Tuesday, a convoy from the cities of Hasaka, Tal Brak, Tal Tamr, and Darbasiya in Jazera Canton headed to Tishrin Dam under the slogan "Victory."

In this context, Jihan Khaled, one of the participants from Hasaka, said: "We will support our sons in the Syrian Democratic Forces with all our strength. Death comes only once, but resistance is life. We will not retreat from the path of our martyr sons."

Sheikhmous Kanjo, also from Hasaka, emphasized that Tishrin Dam is a symbol of the region’s dignity, saying: "Tishrin Dam was liberated with the blood of martyrs, and we will not allow the Turkish occupation to seize it. We will make ourselves human shields against the occupation and its attacks. Victory is inevitable."

Koljin Ahmi from Hasaka added: "Our destination is Tishrin Dam to support our forces, who are engaged in fierce battles. We are not afraid of the occupation’s aircraft, and we will stand by our forces and martyrs until the last breath."

Tal Brak… Continuous support against the occupation’s attacks

In the city of Tal Brak, Wanas Al-Abdullah, a member of the city council, expressed his absolute rejection of the Turkish occupation’s attacks, stating: "Tishrin Dam is the dam of resistance and martyrs. We will support the Syrian Democratic Forces to thwart the occupation’s plans. This land is Syrian, and we will not accept any foreign intervention."

Meanwhile, citizen Evan Salim pointed out that the Turkish occupation’s attacks target the unity of the region’s communities, adding: "The Kurdish people have faced Turkish targeting for decades, and today Arabs are also being attacked because of the strong bond that unites the people of North and East Syria. Tishrin Dam is a symbol of resistance and struggle, and we will support it with all our strength."

Manja Khaled, a member of the city council, said: "We support the Syrian Democratic Forces and will fight for freedom until the last drop of blood."

Darbasiya… The people’s will is stronger than the attacks

In Darbasiya, citizen Khalil Qado emphasized that the city’s residents are heading to the dam to support the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Women's Protection Units (YPJ). He clarified that the dam belongs to the Syrian people and that the will of the region’s people is stronger than the Turkish occupation’s attacks.

Young woman Nour Abbas described the people's resistance at the dam as: "The foundation of the people's revolutionary war," affirming their continued support to protect the achievements of the revolution. She said: "The people of this region do not fear occupation."

Meanwhile, citizen Jihan Darwish stressed that the steadfastness of the people at Tishrin Dam is a clear message to thwart the Turkish occupation’s plans.

Tal Tamr: To the dam of resistance despite the threats

In Tal Tamr, citizen Barjas Ibrahim confirmed that their convoy is the second to head to the dam to support the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Women's Protection Units there. He added: "We are not afraid of Turkish occupation aircraft, and we will defend the dam with our blood. We will not abandon it, no matter how intense the attacks become."

For her part, citizen Bouza Saleh emphasized that the women of North and East Syria draw their strength from the philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan, affirming that they will not allow the Turkish occupation to destroy the security and stability achieved through the sacrifices of the martyrs. She added: "We are heading to Tishrin Dam to defend our land and dignity."

Citizen Lazkin Basho stressed the importance of protecting the dam and its service and electricity facilities, stating: "We will continue the struggle and will not retreat from defending our achievements, no matter how severe the attacks become."
