The United States announced its support for and commitment to moving forward with the agreement to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with the Syrian Interim Government, stressing that consolidating the ceasefire and building trust constitute the first step.

 US Presidential Envoy to Syria Thomas Barak announced a meeting he held with SDF Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi and Ilham Ahmed, Co-Chair of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration.

In a statement on the X platform today, he noted that the United States affirmed its "strong support for and commitment to moving forward with the integration process outlined in the January 18 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian government."

He explained that all parties agreed that "the essential first step is full adherence to the current ceasefire," while work is underway to "identify and implement confidence-building measures by all parties to enhance trust and lasting stability."
