US official visits Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh

Several days ago, National Security Advisor to US Congressman Abraham Jamal Hamadeh, Zach Hoff, met with representatives of the General Council of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, the Syrian Women's Council, and the commander of the Internal Security Forces.

The meetings took place during Hoff's visit to the neighborhoods, which included a general overview of the neighborhoods' conditions, as well as discussions on the frameworks for implementing the April 1 agreement signed between the General Council of the two neighborhoods and representatives of the transitional government regarding civil peace and cooperation between the two parties.

The overall discussions during the meetings focused on building a framework for achieving sustainable stability and expanding women's participation in future decision-making in Syria. They also addressed the importance of the Syrian national dialogue and emphasized the importance of continued US engagement in supporting communities striving for peace.

Abraham Jamal Hamadeh, who dispatched his advisor to the two neighborhoods, is the first Syrian-American member of Congress.

This is the first time the two neighborhoods have witnessed an official visit by a high-ranking US official
