In continuation of international meetings about the future of the region, the Autonomous Administration in Kobani received today a delegation from the United States, including experts and scholars, who discussed with them ways to implement the January 29th agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Interim Government and the mechanisms of integration that have been agreed on. The importance of keeping the security and stability of the area and its unique character was stressed.

Among those attending was Nadine Maenza, former chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and now president of the Global Engagement Institute; Megan Bodette, research director at the Kurdish Peace Institute; and Dr. Amy Austin Holmes, professor at George Washington University and author of the book "Survivors' State."

Representing the Autonomous Administration were Farhan Haj Issa, co-chair of Kobani, and Mazkin Khalil, deputy co-chair.

The two sides discussed integration mechanisms, the progress achieved thus far, and ways to implement the January 29 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Interim Government.

The participants emphasized the need to preserve the distinct identity of the Kurdish community in the region and stressed the importance of strengthening security and protecting the area to ensure Kobani's stability and preserve its gains.
