ANHA correspondent in Sweida reported that the convoy entered the city through the Al-Matouna crossing on the Damascus–Sweida road today. It included 11 trucks — 9 of which were loaded with medicines, medical equipment, and materials for well repairs — in addition to food baskets provided by UNICEF, distributed to the health centers in the city of Salkhad and the town of Dheebin.

The convoy also carried 55,000 liters of diesel fuel, as the city suffers from a severe shortage of fuel, which has led to the shutdown of many vital institutions and bakeries.

This convoy comes as part of ongoing relief efforts to ease the severe humanitarian crisis resulting from the blockade imposed on Sweida and its countryside by the Transitional Government forces, aiming to support both the health and service sectors.

Several aid convoys have been delivered to Sweida and its countryside in recent months following political pressure on the Transitional Government in Syria, supported by expatriates from the region and coordinated with international and UN organizations. These efforts seek to provide the minimum living necessities after more than 100 days of blockade.
