In a statement on Sunday, the IOM reported that "as of now, 128,571 people have been displaced since hostilities began," adding that "the pace of displacement surged significantly on July 19, with over 43,000 people displaced in a single day."

A cautious calm prevailed in Sweida today following a ceasefire announcement after a week of deadly clashes. The violence, which erupted on July 13 in the city, has resulted in over 1,000 deaths, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

On Sunday, U.S. Special Envoy Tom Barrack stated that Syria is going through "a critical moment," calling for "peace and dialogue to prevail." U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio urged the Syrian authorities to "hold accountable anyone guilty of committing atrocities and bring them to justice, including those within their ranks."
