Two children injured over bomb explosion in Homs countryside

Two children were injured when a bomb left over from the war exploded inside an abandoned house in the Homs countryside. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented 263 deaths and 410 injuries caused by remnants of war since the beginning of 2026.

Two children sustained injuries of varying severity when an old bomb left over from the war exploded inside an abandoned house in the village of al-Fadiliyah in the Homs countryside, near the Syrian-Lebanese border, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

According to the Observatory's statistics, 263 people have been killed by explosions involving remnants of war and unexploded ordnance since the beginning of 2026. The fatalities include 98 children, 153 men and 12 women.

A further 410 people have been injured, including 152 children, 244 men and 14 women.
