Tribal reconciliation in Raqqa resolves dispute

Today, the sheikhs and dignitaries of Raqqa's tribes held a tribal reconciliation between Al-Sheikhans and Al-Mousa Al-Zaher clans of Al-Afadelah tribe. This came after a dispute following a traffic accident that resulted in the death of Ahmad Al-Safar (8 years old) from the Al-Sheikhans clan.

The reconciliation took place in the presence of the Council of Elders, tribal sheikhs and dignitaries from Raqqa Canton, representatives from the military relations department of the Syrian Democratic Forces, dignitaries from both clans, and the two disputing parties from the respective families. It was held at the home of the late child’s family in the Al-Akrad neighborhood of Raqqa, where the family of the deceased child granted forgiveness and pardon.

The incident occurred in Raqqa on May 26 of this year.

The two disputing parties shook hands, after which a religious leader in Raqqa Canton, Sheikh Osama Al-Darwish, expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to achieving this reconciliation between the two clans. He wished that reconciliation would always be the ultimate solution in any conflict.
