Transport Minister, Hasakah governor discuss transport development

Syrian Transitional Government Transport Minister Ya'arub Badr held a meeting on Thursday with Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad to discuss ways to improve the work of the Qamishlo Transport Directorate and follow up on procedures to complete the integration and verification of vehicle data based on approved official records and documents, in preparation for reactivating services provided to citizens and improving administrative and technical performance.

The meeting addressed the formation of a technical team and a specialized committee from the ministry to assess the situation at the Qamishlo Transport Directorate and identify the requirements needed for its rehabilitation and equipment. It also covered the completion of data entry and the archiving of paper files to ensure their preservation and accessibility when needed.

The minister said that rehabilitating transport directorates and enhancing digital connectivity between them are key steps toward improving the performance of the service system and enabling faster and more accurate access to vehicle data.

Hasakah governor, for his part, affirmed that the Qamishlo Transport Directorate is ready to resume operations, with an existing vehicle database and dedicated working mechanisms. He noted that the governorate continues its efforts to develop infrastructure and support fiber-optic network connectivity projects, which would help accelerate data integration processes and improve services.

These steps aim to unify vehicle databases, update working mechanisms in transport directorates, and support projects to rehabilitate infrastructure and the transport network in the governorate.
