As part of a series of events marking the 26th anniversary of leade Ocalan’s abduction following an international conspiracy against him, thousands gathered today in public squares to demand his release.

From the early morning, demonstrators assembled in front of the March 8 Hall in Sheikh Maqsoud, carrying banners and images of the leader, with the main slogan of the protest prominently displayed: "We condemn the February 15 conspiracy—A Day of Peoples’ Annihilation."

The crowd, composed of young and old alike, marched through the streets of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, chanting slogans such as "Freedom for the internationalist leader," "No life without the leader," and "Long live the leader’s resistance in Imrali."

Upon reaching Olive Roundabout in Ashrafieh, the demonstrators observed a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs before hearing speeches from Amine Khodro, spokesperson for the Syrian Initiative for the leader’s Freedom, and Baran Del Bahar, the member of the Council of Martyrs’ Families.

Baran Del Bahar began by expressing gratitude to the Kurdish people across all four parts of Kurdistan for their unwavering struggle over the past decades to thwart the international conspiracy and secure leade Ocalan’s physical freedom. He condemned what he described as an ongoing campaign of annihilation against the Kurdish people and the diverse components of Mesopotamia.

Del Bahar stated: "One of the reasons capitalist states orchestrated this conspiracy was the weakness of socialist leftist forces, their detachment from the people, and their entrenchment within the state system—except for the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its founder, the leader Abdullah Ocalan, who became a target of these powers."

Concluding his speech, he emphasized: "Achieving the leader's physical freedom will pave the way for the freedom of all people in the Middle East and the resolution of ongoing conflicts."

Amine Khodro highlighted that the leader and the martyrs, through their sacrifices, transformed the dream of peace and democracy into a tangible reality.

She argued that the leader Ocalan’s abduction was intended to derail the “freedom revolution” but asserted that he successfully resisted the conspiracy, allowing the revolutionary movement to continue and gain support among diverse peoples. She described it as "a revolution of free peoples against authoritarian regimes."
