TEV-DEM issued a statement condemning the recent escalation of violence in the coastal region of Syria, which directly targeted civilians from the Alawite community and resulted in a significant number of casualties, including women and children.

The statement also highlighted assaults on homes and properties, further exacerbating the suffering of the local population.

The movement asserted that these events represent a flagrant violation of humanitarian and moral values and called on the international community to intervene urgently to halt these violent acts that threaten the stability of the region.

Additionally, the movement demanded the need for just political solutions leading to a decentralized system that respects the rights of all Syrian components and relies on genuine partnership among all factions, away from exclusionary and retaliatory policies.

TEV-DEM reaffirmed the unity of Syrian territories and urged all Syrian parties to assume their responsibilities in stopping the violence, rejecting any external interference that threatens the country's security and stability, particularly pointing out the negative role of Turkey and its mercenaries in fueling the conflict.

The movement concluded its statement by emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to build a new Syria based on justice and equality, preserving the dignity of all its citizens.
