TEV-DEM calls for joint struggle with women in Iran

TEV-DEM condemned the crimes and violations of the Iranian authorities against women, and called on the world to demonstrate a common struggle with women in Iran against oppression and occupation.

The Women's Office of TEV-DEM in the Euphrates Region made a statement to public opinion, against over passing away Armita Geravand after a coma due to assaulting by the Iranian "moral police".

The statement was read by the co-chair of TEV-DEM in the Euphrates Region, Hadla Hassan, in front of the movement’s building in the city of Kobani, that the Iranian authorities have launched a coordinated campaign for weeks to deny, distort and hide the fact of killing the young woman, Armita Geravand who was assaulted by the Iranian “moral police” in a subway.

The funeral ceremony for Armita's body was held in the Behesht Zahraa cemetery, amid a tight security measures, during which a number of mourners were arrested.

The statement said that crimes against women have increased recently, pointing out that these crimes resulting from the mentality of male authority.

The Women's Office called on all women in the world to stand in solidarity against these practices against women, in order to gain their freedom and to enjoy their legitimate and natural rights, and called on all those who yearn for freedom to build a free and democratic life against oppression, isolation, and occupation through joint struggle.
