Ten civilians from Sheikhan tribe kidnapped in Raqqa countryside

Factions supported by Turkey and affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of the Interim Government kidnapped ten civilians from the Sheikhan tribe in the Raqqa countryside.

On Wednesday, Turkish-backed factions affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government's Ministry of Defense raided the village of Gneif, located near the village of Tarwaziya on the M4 highway in the Raqqa countryside, according to sources speaking to ANHAagency.

The raid, carried out with 16 military vehicles, resulted in the abduction of 10 young men from the Kurdish Sheikhan tribe. The men were accused of collaborating with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and taken to unknown locations.

Sources indicated that the abductions occurred while civilians were preparing for the harvest season and picking crops on their land.

The land was seized under the pretext that it was "state property," despite the owners possessing documents proving their ownership and usufruct rights.

Reports also indicate that the abductees were subjected to insults and beatings, creating fear that prompted their relatives to flee the village and seek refuge in other areas, the destination of which remains unknown.
