The election campaign carnival and the introduction of the PUK's List No. 129 candidates for the S. Kurdistan Regional Government parliamentary elections were launched yesterday, Sunday, in the city of Sulaymaniyah. The event was held at the Sulaymaniyah International Stadium, attended by a large crowd of citizens, PUK members, and supporters.

In his speech during the introduction of the PUK candidates, Bafil Talabani emphasized that the PUK is the only party capable of correcting the course of governance in S. Kurdistan.

"We are here today to support the PUK’s List No. 129, and with the support of the people of Kurdistan, we will change the ruling power and correct the course of governance in the Kurdistan Region," Talabani said.

He added, "The PUK belongs to every Kurd who is loyal to the land and people of Kurdistan."

"Let’s serve our country and work on its development"

Talabani stated, "We tried to reach an agreement with all political parties regarding the election law, but they refused. We had many meetings with them, but they did not agree, so we went to the Federal Court and amended the law in a way that serves the interests of the people of Kurdistan."

He continued, "I call on you to go to the ballot boxes actively and vote for the PUK’s List No. 129. I have a clear and direct message to the youth, women, and people of Kurdistan: The Prime Minister and key ministries have been controlled by a certain party for many years. Ask yourselves, are you satisfied with this situation? Hundreds of our youth have left the country and emigrated abroad. This country is a paradise; we have oil, gas, and everything. Let’s serve our country and work on developing it."

Talabani confirmed that the PUK would be a force for change: "We suffered a lot in the previous elections from laws tailored to serve one family, but we managed to expose them and thwart their plans. We will not allow this to happen again."

"The Kurdistan Democratic Party sells land like livestock"

Talabani directly criticized the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), describing them as "land sellers," saying, "The Kurdistan Democratic Party sells land like livestock, with no respect for the people's rights. This is not what we want for Kurdistan, and we will not accept the government turning into just a bank that serves one family."

Regarding the current situation in Sulaymaniyah, Talabani explained that the city has faced many significant challenges, but his party has managed to confront these crises: "Sulaymaniyah has faced many difficulties, but we have been able to overcome all of them. My message to the Kurdistan Democratic Party is clear: If you are incapable of reform, we are here to fix what you have ruined."

He concluded his speech by saying, "The PUK stands with the people and will continue working with all its efforts to rebuild Kurdistan and provide the services the people deserve. As for those who want to continue supporting the family-controlled government, they can go and vote for their general manager, but we promise that we will not let this chaos continue."
