Syrian Interim Govt Forces open fire on civilians in Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh

Syrian Interim Government Forces opened fire with live ammunition on demonstrators in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo, as protesters demanded the reopening of blocked roads.

The attack resulted in several injuries among the demonstrators, prompting the Internal Security Forces in the two neighborhoods to respond to the source of the gunfire.

According to local sources, the Syrian Interim Government Forces positioned around Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, escalated their assault after earlier using tear gas and attempting to advance into the neighborhoods with tanks.

As the targeting of civilians continued, exchanges of fire broke out between the government forces and the Internal Security Forces, involving light and medium weapons.

ANHA correspondent reported that the Interim Government forces are attempting to enter the neighborhoods using heavy weaponry and armored vehicles. Several civilians were injured during the attacks and were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
