She walks to Tishrin Dam with her crutch

The ongoing popular resistance at Tishrin Dam, which began on January 8, has entered its 42nd day. Residents participate in rotating groups, each staying for two days. Today, the group representing Qamishlo, Tirbespiye, Amuda, and Tal Hamis is taking part in this movement, which includes all communities and ethnic groups.

In the early hours of the morning, the convoy from these four cities set out for Tishrin Dam, accompanied by mothers, artists, and intellectuals.

Amidst the atmosphere of enthusiasm within the convoy, an elderly woman walking with the support of her crutch caught our attention, and we wanted to hear her thoughts.

This woman is Hadiya Darwish, a 70-year-old from the Hilaliya neighborhood in Qamishlo. Her words and expressions reflect her passion and determination, as she stated that she takes part in all activities, longing for the fulfillment of a dream she has held for years.

Despite facing some health issues, she continues to participate in the protection efforts in her neighborhood.

When the Tishrin Dam movement began, she wanted to join but was unable to accompany the first convoy due to health reasons.

However, as she now feels better, she could not keep herself from participating, so she joined this convoy.

Expressing her belief in the resistance, mother Hadiya said: "The dam is ours, and the enemy covets it today, but let them see it only in their dreams. It will remain ours as long as we are alive, and we will prevail."

Deeply moved by the messages and greetings of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, she added: "We affirm that we will fight, young and old, from the age of one to a hundred, and we will never abandon our leader."
