The Institute of Management at the University of Szczecin hosted the Eighth International Conference on Accounting, Business, Economics, and Politics, with the participation of a group of academics, researchers, and experts from various countries around the world, alongside a delegation from Kobani University. The event drew significant academic interest in contemporary issues in economics, management, and public policy.

The conference began on the evening of Monday, May 25, with a welcoming dinner that brought participants together in an academic atmosphere, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas and perspectives among researchers and experts.

Tuesday, considered the main day of the conference, featured a series of keynote lectures, discussion panels, and scientific sessions addressing key challenges and modern trends in economics, management, and public policy. Activities ran from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The first day concluded with an official dinner celebrating the conference and its participants, reflecting the importance of international academic cooperation and the exchange of scientific expertise among universities and researchers.

The conference continued on its final day with academic sessions and research presentations held both in person and online, allowing broader participation from remote researchers and enhancing academic dialogue and knowledge exchange among participants from around the world. This was within the framework of ICABEP 2026, which aims to strengthen international scientific cooperation and open new horizons for research and development.

In a special interview with our agency, Kobani University administration member Sharvan Muslim said that the university’s participation came as part of joint cooperation with the University of Szczecin, and that Kobani University was part of the conference’s preparatory committee.

He added: “As the conference reaches its final day, we can assess it as positive and successful in terms of the important discussions held over the past two days.”

Muslim explained that a cooperation agreement between Kobani University and the University of Szczecin had been signed a year ago, including provisions for future academic collaboration, and that the university’s participation in the conference was based on this agreement.

He noted that the conference provided an opportunity to meet many international universities, where the delegation held meetings with representatives of those institutions to exchange views on the state of education and ways to develop it, in addition to discussing future projects that serve students’ interests.

He confirmed that the Kurdish language was one of the main topics discussed during the conference with participating universities, some of which expressed interest in including Kurdish in their academic programs.

He said: “We promised those universities support by sending specialized teaching staff in the Kurdish language, as well as preparing Kurdish-language curricula for those universities.”

Muslim concluded by stressing that the Kobani University delegation will, after the conference ends, conduct tours in several European countries and visit various universities to review their educational experiences and convey the realities, challenges, and aspirations of Kobani University students, in pursuit of better academic opportunities and achievements.
