Armed groups in the city of Serêkaniyê have made threats towards displaced persons to hinder them from returning home, following an escalation of discussions on the preparation of the return of these displaced persons to their areas.

A video circulating through virtual social networking sites showed armed men making threats to the displaced persons in the city of Serêkaniyê, following the escalation of discussions on the preparation of the return of these displaced persons to their areas.

The video is that of armed men who were not from the region, appearing in one of the public squares in the city of Serêkaniyê,, where they threatened the inhabitants of the city, which caused apprehension regarding the return of the IDPs and the state of security in the city.

These threats occur in light of calls that seek to create suitable conditions for the return of the residents of Serêkaniyê to their houses, ensuring their safety and security, in addition to calls to restrict arms only to official entities and put an end to manifestations of militant groups.
