Security movements" by General Security near Ashrafiyeh-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods

Today, the General Security Forces of the Syrian Transitional Government established a barricade near the al-Jalaa Club, in the vicinity of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods, along the main road leading to the Al-Seryan neighborhood. This move comes despite agreements signed last April and prior security coordination between the General Security Forces and the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh.

These movements coincided with drone activity observed over Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh, raising concerns among residents about the potential for field escalation or a collapse of existing understanding, especially given the proximity of the barricade to residential areas. Many are questioning the reasons behind these sudden developments and their potential impact on the city's security and stability.

This development is seen as a clear breach of the agreement reached in Aleppo last April regarding Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh, which called for maintaining calm and avoiding any military or field actions that could threaten stability in the area.
