In this context, an ISIS terrorist cell targeted one of our military vehicles today, Friday, in the village of Al-Zir, Al-Busayrah area, east of Deir ez-Zor. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of one of our fighters and the injury of another.
Our forces responded to the source of the attack, where the terrorist cell had been hiding in the area. Clashes broke out between our forces and members of the terrorist cell, who eventually managed to flee. Our units immediately launched search and sweep operations in pursuit of the terrorists.
In a separate incident, another terrorist cell attacked a military post belonging to our forces in the town of Dhiban, east of Deir ez-Zor. Our forces responded forcefully to the attack, inflicting injuries among the attackers. However, the exact number and condition of the terrorists remain unknown, as they fled under the firepower of our forces. No casualties or damages were reported among our units during this terrorist attack.
Another ISIS cell also targeted a checkpoint belonging to the Internal Security Forces between the towns of Al-Shuhail and Al-Busayrah. Details of this terrorist attack unclear.
The terrorist organization continues to exploit the ongoing state of chaos in Syria to reorganize and revive its terrorist operations by launching attacks against our forces, security institutions, civilians, and public infrastructure. Nevertheless, our forces remain steadfast in their military and security operations across multiple axes and will not allow the terrorist group to carry out its destructive and malicious agenda in our regions.”
