SDF: Fabricated names used to cover up attacks

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) refuted the narratives promoted by the so-called interim government on the presence of certain individuals in North and East Syria, stating: “Relying on an approach based on fabricating names exposes the nature of the official discourse, which is built on disinformation and represents a failed attempt to evade responsibility for proven actions.”

Media outlets affiliated with the interim government have circulated news claiming the presence of a number of individuals in North and East Syria, including Ali Kiyali, who previously served as the leader of the so-called “Syrian Resistance in the Sanjak of Alexandretta” and is associated with the Baath regime and convicted of several massacres.

“The narratives promoted by the Damascus authorities regarding the presence of Ali Kiyali or other alleged names in North and East Syria are nothing more than a series of repeated lies that have been circulated over recent days and have collapsed one after another. They come within a clear context aimed at covering up their attacks and assaults, and at creating imaginary narratives to justify what they are doing on the ground,” SDF Media Center stated.

“ Relying on this approach of fabricating names and inventing facts reveals the nature of an official discourse that is not based on conveying information, but rather on deliberate disinformation, in a failed attempt to evade responsibility for proven and well-known actions,” the statement concluded.
