Today, the SDC Co-Presidency received a delegation from the Political Bureau of the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party in Syria at SDC’s headquarters in the city of Hasakah. The meeting aimed to discuss the latest political developments in Syria and the region, particularly the current transitional phase and the shifting regional alignments, especially in light of the recent Iranian-Israeli escalation.

The visiting delegation included Media Akko, Kilan Oskan, and Midas Azizi, who were welcomed by SDC Co-Presidency members Leyla Qaraman and Mahmoud Al-Maslat.

The meeting focused on the prospects of the transitional phase in Syria and ways to involve the various Syrian components in the state-building process based on national partnership and inclusive dialogue.

Both parties affirmed that a political solution in Syria can only be achieved through a genuine Syrian will grounded in real partnership without excluding or marginalizing any group.

They also discussed the March 10 Agreement between the Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the head of the Syrian Interim Government, considering it a pivotal milestone that revived the Syrian peace process. The ongoing negotiations were seen as a natural continuation of this agreement.

The attendees stressed the importance of launching a comprehensive Syrian national conference that ensures the participation of all political forces and social components, restoring the initiative to Syrians in determining their country’s future away from foreign interference.

The meeting also addressed the need to promote a culture of civil peace and coexistence and emphasized the active role of political parties during this phase by opening channels of dialogue and organizing joint events—key steps toward building a genuine pluralistic democracy.

For its part, the SDC Co-Presidency reiterated the importance of establishing a unified national discourse and rejecting all forms of incitement and hatred, emphasizing that the unity of Syrians and the safety of the country are the pillars of any successful political transition.

The council expressed its commitment to continuing efforts to build trust and strengthen communication among the diverse segments of Syrian society.
