Rojava delegation to attend European Parliament meeting

A delegation from Rojava will participate in a meeting at the European Parliament, scheduled to be held next Wednesday in the Belgian capital, Brussels.

The delegation includes Ilham Ahmed, Co-Chair of the Department of External Relations of the Autonomous Administration, and Rohilat Afrin, member of the General Command of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).

The meeting, titled “The Kurds and Turkey,” will address developments in Rojava and Turkey, as well as the attacks carried out by factions of the Syrian Interim Government against Rojava, and the peace process and democratic society efforts in Northern Kurdistan and Turkey.

According to available information, Member of the European Parliament Evin Incir has called for the meeting to be held in the Spinelli building between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. local time in Brussels next Wednesday. The Rojava delegation, along with parliamentarians from the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), will deliver speeches and participate in discussions on the humanitarian and political situation in the region.
