The Committee for Prisoners and Missing Persons in Rojava reported that the number of missing persons has reached 628. Meanwhile, it has verified the detention of 138 individuals in prisons controlled by the Interim Government in the cities of Idlib, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, Aleppo, Manbij, and Homs.

According to information obtained by ANHA agency from the committee, the cases of the missing persons stem from events that took place in the regions of North and East Syria and the city of Aleppo between January 6 and January 29, 2026.

The committee stated that this period saw attacks targeting the Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods of Aleppo, as well as areas in North and East Syria. These events coincided with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) repositioning from the Deir Hafir area, during which the forces engaged in confrontations.

The committee added that these events resulted in the capture of fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Internal Security Forces, and the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), while the fate of hundreds of other individuals remains unknown.

The names of the missing persons have been documented by the committee and are as follows:
