The Yazidi House in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo organized a celebration today on the occasion of the Yazidi New Year, "Red Wednesday," under the slogan "With the spirit of the martyrs of freedom, we will revive Red Wednesday and defeat the occupation," held in the Shaqif area of Sheikh Maqsoud.

The celebration began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs' souls. Manan Jaafar, the Co-chair of the Yazidi House, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the "readiness of the displaced people from occupied Afrin to return to their regions with the spirit of Red Wednesday," adding that "the year 2025 is a year for resolving issues, achieving gains, and making agreements that fulfill the aspirations of the Kurdish people."

For her part, Shirin Jawish, the Co-chair of the Yazidi House, explained that "Red Wednesday is a day of renewal for nature and peace, and that peace can only be achieved through the sacrifices of the martyrs and the struggle based on the ideas and philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan."

Congratulations were then offered by Nahla Mustafa on behalf of the Democratic Society Movement, Basel Qassas Nasrallah on behalf of the Christian community, and Nasrin Ibrahim on behalf of the Interfaith Forum. In their speeches, they emphasized that the human and fraternal bond is what unites people of all beliefs and religions.
