Residents of Quneitra expel Israeli patrol

Southern Syria witnessed a new escalation on the ground in the countryside of Quneitra and Daraa, where Israeli forces penetrated several areas, sparking angry reactions from the local population.

In Quneitra, a patrol consisting of six vehicles belonging to the Israeli army infiltrated the Yarmouk Basin area in western Daraa countryside, specifically along the road linking the villages of Jamla and Sa’sa, before being forced to withdraw shortly thereafter. The reasons for the withdrawal were not disclosed.

In a related development, the village of Ruwayhina experienced noticeable tension when residents pelted an Israeli patrol with stones after it entered the village and began stopping pedestrians. This led to the removal of the Israeli flag from the patrol vehicle—a scene that reflects the deep resentment and anger over the Israeli presence in the area, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

In another development, an escalation was recorded in the eastern countryside of Quneitra, in the area of Al-Samadaniyah Al-Sharqiyah. Israeli forces launched an operation using two tanks and two vehicles originating from the "Al-Mahdama" base, firing shots into the air. There were no reports of clashes or injuries between the parties.

These developments come amid ongoing tensions and field escalation between the Israeli army and local residents, with potential consequences that may further inflame unrest in a region already on edge, raising fears of renewed violence and instability.
