The Turkish occupation continues to launch attacks on North and East Syria, particularly targeting the Tishrin Dam. These attacks directly struck civilians protesting at the dam, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of people.

In this context, the Al-Hol City Council in Jazera Canton issued a statement to the public denouncing the occupation’s attacks, with dozens of city residents participating.

The statement, read by Shahin Al-Hiran, Co-Vice Chair of the Al-Hol City Council, stated that “the Turkish occupation’s attacks using warplanes and drones constitute a blatant violation of international laws and the Geneva Conventions.”

The statement highlighted that targeting innocent civilians who gathered at Tishrin Dam to protect the region is a heinous crime that adds to the series of crimes committed by the Turkish occupation in North and East Syria.

It stressed the need for the international community to take responsibility, both humanitarian and legal, to stop these repeated assaults. The statement also praised the resilience of the people and the role of the Syrian Democratic Forces in defending the land.

Meanwhile, in Al-Shaddadi, also in Jazera Canton, the city council issued a similar statement in the presence of residents, community leaders, and members of institutions and committees. The gathering began with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs.

The statement was read by Yusra Al-Abdullah, a member of the Executive Office in the People's Municipality of Al-Shaddadi. It pointed out that "the Turkish occupation state continues to commit its crimes using drones and warplanes, targeting innocent civilians and medical teams at Tishrin Dam.”

The statement described these attacks as "a stain on humanity’s conscience," adding that "the international community’s silence only exacerbates the suffering of civilians and encourages the occupation to continue its crimes."

The statement called for classifying Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a war criminal and bringing him to international trial. It also affirmed that the people of North and East Syria will not retreat from their right to resist the occupation.
