Raising the Syrian flag in Hasakah affirms peace among all sects

The Syrian flag was raised in Peace Square in the city of Hasakah during a ceremony in which Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad emphasized the importance of strengthening civil peace, completing the procedures for integrating directorates, and beginning to provide services to residents soon.

Today, Peace Square in Hasakah witnessed a ceremony to raise the Syrian flag, attended by Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad and his deputies, along with a number of prominent figures, tribal elders, and representatives of the security and military agencies, as well as local community representatives.

During a speech at the event, the governor of Hasakah stressed that the presence of officials and prominent figures in Peace Square was intended to affirm peace among all the communities of the governorate, delivering a reassuring message to the residents of Hasakah and its various communities.

He said that over the past eight months, efforts had focused on implementing the integration procedures in accordance with the agreement concluded between the transitional government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), noting that work was continuing to consolidate security and stability and preserve civil peace in the governorate.

He added that efforts to integrate the directorates and institutions had reached their final stages, stressing that the next phase would shift its focus to the issue of public services.

He emphasized: “We pledge to our people and our communities that we will soon begin the phase of providing services to residents.”

The ceremony to raise the Syrian flag in Peace Square took place amid an official, tribal, security, and military presence, with the event focusing on messages of peace, social cohesion, and stability in the city of Hasakah.

The square had earlier witnessed a group of people attacking Kurdish symbols, informational signs, and surveillance cameras, as well as attempting to assault Internal Security Forces, amid preparations for the flag-raising ceremony
