The PYD, in coordination with the Culture Authority of Raqqa Canton, organized a political forum under the theme: “Amid Political Developments, Where is Syria Heading?”

The event, held at the city’s cultural center, aimed to discuss the current political situation and explore future prospects for Syria in light of regional and international changes.

The forum brought together intellectuals, politicians, public affairs experts, tribal leaders, representatives of the Autonomous Administration, and various political parties. Discussions focused on the necessity of constructive dialogue and the search for sustainable solutions that ensure national unity, stability, and peaceful coexistence among Syria’s diverse components.

The session opened with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs, followed by remarks from Sihanouk Dibo, Co-Chair of the PYD’s Public Relations Office. He emphasized that “the peoples of the region have endured significant sacrifices to reach this stage, and today, there is an urgent need for dialogue to build a new, democratic Syria.”

Dibo further noted that “the fall of the Ba’athist regime was inevitable, and in response, the Autonomous Administration presented itself as a viable path to resolving Syria’s crises. Initially, it emerged as a framework shaped by the sacrifices of Syria’s diverse components, and later, as a political model offering a democratic solution aligned with the aspirations of the Syrian people.”

The forum featured discussions on the future of Syria’s political process, the role of local and international actors in shaping the next phase, and pathways to achieving the Syrian people's aspirations for freedom, democracy, and social justice. Participants also addressed the resilience of northeastern Syria in the face of Turkish occupation.

Attendees underscored the importance of dialogue as a fundamental principle for building a shared future, stressing the need for open channels of communication and inclusive political solutions that reflect the will of the Syrian people in this critical juncture of the country’s history.
