QAMISHLO

Dozens of residents and shop owners gathered in a protest in Qamishlo, demanding immediate solutions to the city's worsening cost-of-living crisis.

The demonstrators carried banners calling for improved living standards, regular electricity service, and a solution to the fuel shortage.

Participants also chanted slogans urging the authorities to act swiftly to address the deteriorating economic situation. They stressed that the continued rise in the prices of basic commodities, coupled with frequent power outages, has placed a heavy burden on residents, disrupted daily life, and caused significant losses for shop owners and their livelihoods.

The demonstration is part of a series of protests taking place across cities in al- Jazira region, calling for solutions to fuel and electricity shortages, measures to curb rising prices, and improvements in citizens' living conditions.
