Protests in Kobani for release of prisoners held by Interim Govt.

Families of prisoners held by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), along with residents of Kobani, organized a protest on Sunday at the Free Woman Square, demanding the immediate release of their sons who have been detained by the Syrian Interim Government since mid-January.

The participants raised banners calling for information on the fate of the prisoners and the swift implementation of the agreement held between the SDF and the Interim Government, which stipulated their release. The protesters emphasized that only a limited number of prisoners have been released so far, and the agreement's terms have not been fully abided.

In a speech delivered during the protest, Asad Aboud; the member of the Kobani Martyrs' Families Council, said, "We are here for our sons, and as families of martyrs and prisoners, we demand that their fate be determined immediately. We trust our administration, which continues to work tirelessly for their release, and we pledge to our sons that we will continue to demand their rights until the end."

Aboud added that the agreement signed on January 29th stipulated the release of the prisoners, but this has not yet been implemented. He called for their swift release and the return of the martyrs' bodies to their families.

These protests come amid escalating demands from families for adherence to the signed agreements and ensuring the return of all prisoners to their families as soon as possible.
