Prominent ISIS leader arrested by SDF

The SDF stated in a press release today that the TOL, in coordination with and with the support of the International Coalition, successfully captured one of the key leaders of ISIS.

The SDF statement read: "Our forces, with the support of the International Coalition, continue to carry out extensive security operations against the remnants of the terrorist organization ‘ISIS’ across various areas of northern and eastern Syria.

During this month, our forces conducted several specialized operations that resulted in the dismantling of terrorist cells and the arrest of numerous members and leaders of the organization, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the security and stability of the region.

In this context, the TOL of our forces (SDF), in coordination with and with support from the International Coalition, carried out a precise security operation yesterday (Wednesday) in the town of Maskanah, east of Aleppo, during which they managed to arrest one of the prominent leaders of the terrorist organization ‘ISIS.’

The operation came after precise intelligence monitoring of the movements of the terrorist Ahmed Khalaf al-Hussein, a native of Maskanah, where our forces raided his hideout and arrested him without any casualties.

Investigations revealed that the terrorist was leading a cell active in supplying the equipment and materials needed to manufacture car bombs, aiming to carry out terrorist attacks targeting both civilians and our forces.

The SDF reaffirm their firm commitment to continue pursuing the remnants of the terrorist organization and tracking its sleeper cells, and they will continue to deliver decisive strikes against anyone threatening the security and stability of the region, to preserve public peace and protect civilian lives."
