on Sunday morning, at the invitation of the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the Syrian Lawyers’ Initiative to Defend Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and the Doctors’ Union, the activities of the first conference of the Syrian Initiative were launched at al-Sharq University in the city of Raqqa, under the slogan (Violating international law in the case of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the right to justice).

After standing for a minute of silence, the conference program began with discussion within the first session, which included two topics. In the first session, which was entitled “Pages on Leadership,” lawyer Amna Khadro shed light on the personality of Leader Abdullah Ocalan. “We would like to read a few pages about Leader Abdullah Ocalan.” The head of the Evangelical Alliance in Africa said of him, “The leader is like a breath of fresh air, enjoys great popularity, and demands a more just life.”

Amna Khadro added: “The leader was born in the village of Amara in the city of Urfa, educated in the village school and studied law at Istanbul University. He carried out a legendary activity by establishing an independent group that addressed the Kurdistan thesis as its goal. After the martyrdom of the fighter Hakki Qarar at the hands of the conspiring agents, the decision was made to establish the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.” Because of the people’s embrace of the party, Turkey began bombing the areas where the party is located.”

The co-chair of the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, Mohammad al-Nuaimi, pointed out, in the second axis of the first session, under the title “The International Conspiracy and the Sham Trial,” to what Leader Abdullah Ocalan was subjected to: “On this day in 1948, the United Nations declared human rights.” Officially, where are we today in terms of international law?

He added: "Leader Abdullah Ocalan said that the people have been ignored for certain purposes in line with the treaties of peace, security and order."

He continued: "We do not recognize the sham trial of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, because it is a flagrant violation of international law in light of the absence of the legitimate authority of the Turkish state and the absence of the right to justice without access to justice towards an equal and just right for Leader Abdullah Ocalan."

In the same context, the lawyer of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, from Greece, Philos Kand Yiddous, said in an intervention via the “Zoom” application: “The leader was strong and courageous, and if we had dealt positively with Leader Ocalan, and if Europe had given him his rights, we would have been able to liberate him. In my opinion, the Kurds are the owners of... opinion and strength. Everyone saw during the ISIS/ Daesh attack how the Kurds confronted it, so we must help the Kurds and create a homeland for them.”

In his turn, the former officer in the Greek army, Andonis Nakaadis, also referred during his intervention via the “Zoom” application to his testimony to the conspiracy that was hatched against Leader Abdullah Ocalan, “I was a witness to the international conspiracy against Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and you all know that Turkey provides support to movements and terrorist organizations.”

Nakaadis added: "I am very happy with this initiative, and I hope that it will spread in America and Europe in particular to achieve freedom for Leader Abdullah Ocalan."

The conference continues with discussion on the second session, which consists of two axes: the first, “The Imrali System,” delivered by lawyer Khadija Bidiwi, and the second axis, on the health of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, delivered by Doctor Mustafa Abdel Karim, and an intervention by Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s lawyer, Janet Janish, via the Zoom application, about “the isolation regime in Imrali and the violations committed therein.

The conference is scheduled to conclude its activities today by reading a final statement.
