Representatives of 33 political parties and organizations met in the Al-Mahatta neighborhood in the city of Qamishlo to denounce the Turkish attacks on NE Syria. While the representative of the Modernity and Democracy Party of Syria, Haifa Mahmoud was reading the statement of condemnation, the drones of the Turkish occupation army carried out a series of air strikes near of them.

The statement mentioned the Turkish attacks targeted, on December 23, the energy infrastructure in NE Syria.

The political parties that signed the statement denounced in the strongest terms the horrific and repeated Turkish targeting on NE Syria, with the aim of striking security and stability and intimidating citizens through continuous attacks that spread terror and panic.

" We also condemn the hostile Turkish policies and state terrorism practiced by the Turkish regime against the people of NE Syria, mainly the deliberate targeting of infrastructure which constitutes the basic foundation for the continuation of citizens’ lives and their vital security.

The statement stressed that "the continued escalation increases the complexity of the scene and threatens security and stability in the region. We affirm our position rejecting Turkey's expansionist policy which has occupied large parts of northern Syria and aims to break the will of the Syrian people who seek to restore Syrian sovereignty.

The statement also affirmed that “Turkey is an occupying state that occupied Afrin, Ras al-Ayn and Tal Abyad under the pretext of protecting its national security.

Turkey is committing war crimes and genocide against the indigenous population, especially the Kurdish people, as it intended to displace them, change the demographic composition, taking advantage of the various developments and developments in the Middle East.

In their statement, the political parties and organizations called on international forces “to take clear positions towards Turkish policies,” and renewed their support for “the Syrian Democratic Forces, which are still fighting the terrorist organization ISIS and pursuing its cells."

It also called on the international coalition and the Russian Federation not to show leniency, "which may lead to undermining all the efforts and sacrifices made in the war against terrorism."

The statement directed an invitation to the Arab state to play its role towards NE Syria and to support the democratic political forces that represent a basic pillar of the democratic political solution and that have a national project to end the occupation and restore Syria's integrity and sovereignty.
