Syria in general, including the regions of North and East Syria, is currently experiencing an exceptional situation, where the situation is accelerating. Some parties, most notably the occupying Turkish state and its mercenaries, are trying to exploit what is happening to occupy the region. The best evidence of this is the ongoing attacks on the city of Manbij. Therefore, the importance of the revolutionary people's war is highlighted here.

The Concept of Revolutionary People's War

Revolutionary people's war is a strategy based on broad popular participation in political and military struggle with the aim of defending rights and achieving social and political change.

This war relies on mobilizing all sectors of society, including workers, peasants, youth and women, to participate in confronting security, economic and political challenges.

This type of war is not just a military struggle, but a comprehensive model of popular struggle aimed at liberating societies from tyranny, occupation and exploitation. It is essentially not just a military confrontation, but a process of social and intellectual liberation aimed at building a new society based on democracy, equality and social justice.

The Importance of the Revolutionary People's War for the Region of North and East Syria

The region of North and East Syria is experiencing special circumstances as a result of the multiple threats it faces, whether from a security perspective with the continued attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, or from an economic perspective due to the siege imposed on it.

In this context, the revolutionary people's war represents a strategic tool to preserve the gains achieved by the peoples of the region after they presented more than 12 thousand martyrs and more than 22 thousand wounded, and among those gains is the Democratic Autonomous Administration project based on coexistence between the various components.

The revolutionary people's war is the basis for strengthening the concept of Self-Defense, where every individual in society becomes part of the defense of his region and land.

Self-Defense is a natural and legitimate right for all peoples, and every individual in society must be part of the defense system, whether through weapons or by participating in other fields, such as the economy, culture, and education, because defense is not limited to military confrontation but includes protecting culture, language, and societal values from attempts at genocide or domination.

With the increasing threats at present from the cells recruited by the occupation, the participation of the population alongside the Community Protection Forces in defense and protection of neighborhoods is a means to ensure that the road is cut off before attempts to undermine internal unity and incite chaos, and is also a means to ensure sustainable resistance.

Mobilizing all components of society will enhance the sense of unity and solidarity among the various components in northern and eastern Syria (Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Assyrians, and others), which will contribute to thwarting the enemy's plans that are based on inciting the components against each other.

In addition to its defensive role, the revolutionary people's war helps to enhance self-sufficiency through collective agricultural projects, cooperatives, and the reorganization of local resources, which limits the effects of the economic siege imposed on the region.

The Pioneering Role of Women and Youth

Women and youth play a leading role in the revolutionary people's war, which enhances their role in society and creates a societal dynamic based on equality and active participation.

The liberation of society cannot be achieved without the liberation of women, and therefore women's participation in the revolutionary people's war is essential to achieving radical social change.

The role of communes and councils in the revolutionary people's war

Since the  autonomous administration project in North and East Syria is based on communes as a basic organizational unit, communes are tools for organizing society and ensuring its effective participation in the revolutionary people's war by working as a beehive to protect the geography of the commune from anyone who dares to harm society, and also by making all commune members contribute to the struggle in different ways based on the requirements of the stage.

The strategy of the revolutionary people's war is a comprehensive liberation project that goes beyond military struggle to include all areas of life. Its ultimate goal is not only to get rid of occupation or oppressive regimes, but to build a new society based on democratic foundations and a free life for all its members. This requires all members of society to be one hand and move according to this strategy in order to guarantee their rights that they have been struggling for decades.
