People of Afrin, Al-Shahba slam leader's isolation

Today, TEV-DEM  in Afrin and Al-Shahba canton organized a demonstration denouncing the isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan, and demanding his physical freedom, as the people of Afrin and Al-Shahba canton gathered on the road linking the town of Tal Qarah and Sardam camp.

During which participants carried pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and banners reading, “The democratic nation’s project is not complete without the freedom leader,” “Enough of the isolation and occupation, it is time to liberate Afrin"and “There is no life without the leader.”

The demonstrators observed a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs. Then the co-chair of TEV-DEM, Hassan Lou said: “We went out today in a march in solidarity with the philosopher, Leader Ocalan, who dedicated his life to defending the people and Kurdish nation.”

He added: "The gains of NE Syria were achieved thanks to the blood of thousands of martyrs and the thought of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, against whom the Turkish occupation state has imposed strict isolation for more than 30 months and prevented his family and lawyer from meeting with him."

He stressed, "We, the people of Afrin and al-Shahba condemn the strict isolation imposed on the leader, and we call on international forces and human rights organizations to lift the isolation and resolve the Kurdish issue."

For her part, the member of the Martyrs' Families Council of Afrin and al-Shahba canton, Shadia Ibrahim denounced the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan and affirmed the continuation of the path of resistance and struggle until the leader is physically liberated.

The demonstration ended with chanting, "Freedom for the leader," and "there is no life without the leader."
