Participants in" Freedom march": Leader Ocalan’s freedom is freedom of people

The representative of the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Partiyê), Ali Bozan, and the representative of the same party, Noruz Uysal, who are participants in the Freedom march, spoke to ANHA agency about this march, the popular interest in it, and the Turkish state’s policies towards them.

 “The march was massive despite the obstacles.”

Representative Ali Bozan indicated that they were 75 people when they set off, but their number increased as they passed through the areas through which the march passed. He stated that they were expressing the demands of millions despite the obstacles, and that everyone was joining them with great enthusiasm. He said of his observations regarding the march: “The enthusiasm was it intensifies everywhere we reach, and all segments of society have overcome all obstacles to reach us. In some areas, we were welcomed with drums and bid farewell with ululations. They cared about us everywhere, because our demands are social.”

Ali Bozan pointed out that the crowds of all the axes had gathered in Amed, and were following the march there, and said: “We saw once again that the Justice and Development Party has gone bankrupt in Kurdistan. They are afraid of this people to the point of not allowing them to express their demands. They have tried to prevent the people from reaching us.” But we expressed the people’s demands even if there was a complete siege.”

“The people analyze the stage well.”

Ali Bozan revealed that they held popular meetings on their way and continued, “We discussed in the popular meetings the current stage and the isolation imposed on Mr. Ocalan, and we clearly noticed that the people are following the issue well, and we received very positive opinions from the people regarding the importance of the march and its time.”

“They will not be able to make them forget Mr. Ocalan’s ideas.”

Bozan pointed out that the isolation imposed on Leader Ocalan has continued for 25 years, and continued his speech by saying: “No information has been received about Mr. Ocalan for 3 years, while the isolation imposed on him has continued for 25 years, and because no laws are applied in Imrali, no benefit has been made.” Among the rights stipulated in the laws as well, there were no regular visits to lawyers or to the family, while the right to communicate by phone was only used twice over the course of 25 years. The state seeks in this way to eliminate the ideas of Mr. Ocalan, but Mr. Ocalan is detained in prison. Imrali Island only physically, his philosophy did not spread only in Turkey or Kurdistan, but throughout the world, and we have seen again in our journey that these ideas cannot be forgotten, and we are witnesses to this as participants in the freedom march from the beginning.”

 “The failure to resolve the Kurdish issue is the main cause of the crises.”

Ali Bozan highlighted the consequences of isolation and its consequences on the people in Turkey and said: “Isolation is the cause of all problems in Turkey, and the main problem that everyone in Turkey suffers from today is the economy, and although this is not officially recognized, Turkey suffers from a major economic problem.” The reason for this crisis is the lack of democracy, peace and stability in the country and the fact that the country is in a state of continuous conflict internally and externally, and the failure to resolve the Kurdish issue is the main reason for these conflicts, and the Kurdish issue cannot be resolved except through negotiation with Mr. Ocalan.”

Regarding the role of the media in the freedom march, Ali Bozan said that the opposition media ignored the march because the opposition parties stood with the government against it.

The representative of the People's Equality and Democracy Party, Newroz Uysal, explained that there are two main demands of the Freedom march to resolve the Kurdish issue, and she stated that Leader Ocalan must be addressed to resolve the Kurdish issue. She said: “Solving the Kurdish issue means releasing Mr. Ocalan. The freedom of Mr. Ocalan will mean solving all the problems in The country, especially with regard to the democratization of Turkey, today Imrali has become a form of government in Turkey. Isolation has prevailed in all parts of the country, so we say that there must be resistance everywhere and intensification of activities."

Newroz Uysal pointed out that their demands are not new and that they have been expressing them for 25 years, and she stressed that the activities will continue unabated, and pointed out that the Kurdish people have been demanding their demands for centuries, and she continued her speech by saying: “So a massive march took place, dominated by great enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility. It was There is great enthusiasm from Qars until the last station. We saw this enthusiasm embodied in one place in the cries of a mother, in another place in words of support from a young man despite the police cordoning him off, and in the clapping of a woman on the balcony of her home in another place.”
