This year’s Newroz celebrations witnessed an unprecedented level of enthusiasm and joy among ethnic and religious communities, marking a stark contrast to previous years. The historic messages of leader Abdullah Ocalan left a clear imprint on all Newroz celebrations.

Additionally, this year's Newroz was distinguished by the large number of greetings extended by Arab and international heads of state and officials, who conveyed their hopes for a new year filled with optimism and freedom.

Among those present at the 2025 Newroz celebrations in Lebanon was Dr. Alfred Riachi, Secretary-General of the Permanent Conference on Federalism. He expressed his deep happiness at attending the festivities, noting that this year’s event was marked by broad participation from various political actors, activists, organizations, parties, and the general public.

Riachi emphasized that this occasion "symbolizes the affirmation of the Kurdish people's cultural expression," expressing his hope that "freedom of expression will expand further—not only in the religious sphere but across all aspects of public life."

Furthermore, Riachi expressed his aspiration that this year would mark "the beginning of a genuine peace process, making conflict resolution and the establishment of advanced federal systems a primary objective—systems that respect the plurality of nations and communities." Additionally, he hoped this occasion would "evolve into a constructive alliance and cooperation framework, ultimately leading to a model that preserves the identity, culture, and historical legacy of different peoples and communities while respecting their distinctiveness."
