The concept of leader Abdullah Ocalan becomes a subject of widespread interest among the people of North and East Syria, especially the Arab component, who see in it a means of self-understanding and structuring their societies according to the principles of the democratic nation, which reinforces social cohesion, increases respect for religions, and helps to liberate women from the societal constraints imposed upon them.

Women's liberation and restoration of self-confidence

In this context, Tel Brak City Council member, Lamis al-Ayed, explained that reading the leader Abdullah Ocalan's ideas has opened a new horizon for her to face daily challenges, saying: "I have great pleasure in the leader's philosophy, as he has offered solutions to the crises we face in our daily lives."

She went on that the ideology of the leader granted a privileged position to women, which allowed them to drop reserve and express themselves freely, calling on Arab women to get acquainted with it so that they could liberate themselves from the shackles of the patriarchal society.

Re-discovering identity and social organization

As for Adnan Al-Eissa, a teacher in the School Administration Committee in Tel Brak, he emphasized the importance of Abdullah Ocalan's thought in enabling the peoples to regain their history and culture after decades of persecution and marginalization. "What attracts me to the leader's thought," he said, "is his focus on the peoples as a main axis in his evaluations, which has made us rediscover our identity."

He asserted that his close reading of the leader's philosophy led him to rearrange his own priorities and organize his life, adding that the leader's thought calls for the establishment of a more integrated and aware society, based on brotherhood among peoples without religious or sectarian discrimination.

Liberating from fanaticism and closure of the mind

For his part, Farhan al-Suwaid, a member of the People's Municipality in Tel Brak, discussed the impact of the leader's thought on his personality and behavior, saying: "I came to know the thought of leader Abdullah Ocalan in 2017, and since then I started to review all the aspects of my life, becoming more tolerant and free from a narrow perspective on things."

He concluded his speech by declaring that he has abandoned religious, ethnic, and national fanaticism, adopting the motto of "all for one, and one for all," and emphasizing that he attempts to apply what he has learned to be a free and active citizen to build society.
