Noon Initiative demands that status of Leader Ocalan be revealed immediately

The Noon Freedom Ocalan Initiative issued a written statement to the public, demanding to know the status of leader Abdullah Ocalan following the earthquake that struck the Turkish city of Bursa on Monday (December 6).

The initiative said at the beginning of the statement, that "the world today lives in a critical state in its legal and humanitarian fields regarding what is being committed against Leader Ocalan and the imposition of strict isolation without any regard to international and humanitarian laws and conventions."

The initiative warned that Imrali Prison, where Leader Abdullah Ocalan is imprisoned, "has become an extremely dangerous place, especially after the earthquakes that struck Istanbul on the fourth of this month, the same place where the philosopher Leader Abdullah Ocalan is imprisoned."

And called on all peoples to hold more protests and take a stand until the situation of leader Abdullah Ocalan is revealed and his health is reassured. it also called on human rights organizations to “put pressure on the Turkish state to reassure us of our leader, and to transfer him to a safer place as quickly as possible.”

And stressed that its first and fundamental demand is “to end the illegal isolation of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and achieve his physical freedom.”

Also in the statement, the Noon Initiative called on the Committee against Torture (CPT) to clarify its true position regarding what Turkey is doing against Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and to “take its role in a real way and not just be a name without substance and content.”

At the conclusion of the statement, it affirmed: “We, in the Noon Initiative, consider Leader Abdullah Ocalan a source of intellectual and liberation inspiration for all peoples yearning for freedom, and based on this, we will work hard until our demand is achieved, and we are all confident in the will of free peoples.”
