The Noon Initiative condemned ignoring the position of the Committee against Torture when it visited Turkey during the period between 13 and 23 February of this month, and considered it “a kind of collusion against the leader of the peoples."

Noon Initiative's statement said: “Despite the illegal isolation imposed on leader Ocalan, the arbitrary and unjustified detention by the Turkish authorities in Imrali prison, where leader Ocalan has been held for a period exceeding 25 years, the international community has not taken a decisive and firm stance towards these violations."

The initiative added: “ We, the Noon Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Ocalan, strongly reject this position, and we consider it a kind of collusion against the leader of the peoples, especially at a time when the Turkish authorities are deliberately disclosing any information related to leader safety or health, which confirms that this position represents a deliberate disregard for the benefit of the Turkish authorities.”

The statement stressed: “The Committee should conduct an urgent visit to leader Ocalan, especially Imrali is area is exposed to dangerous natural phenomena such as earthquakes, which requires the Committee against Torture and other international human rights institutions to convey an immediate and objective picture of the leader health conditions.”
