Israeli forces entered the village of Sweida in the southern Quneitra countryside on Tuesday, conducting a raid and search operation in the area, resulting in the arrest of a young man from the village.

This incursion comes one day after an Israeli military operation in the Beit Jinn area in the western Damascus countryside, approximately 50 kilometers southwest of the capital. A force of eleven military vehicles and approximately twenty soldiers crossed into the area and seized control of a strategic hill near Mount Hermon.

For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian government stated that the incursion into the Beit Jinn area represents a "dangerous escalation and a direct threat to regional peace and security," stressing that "the continuation of such violations undermines stability efforts and fuels tension in the region."

It also reiterated its call for "the United Nations and the Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and take immediate action to deter the occupation authorities and halt their aggressive practices."
