New candidates elected for Environment Council

 Two candidates, Rasha Ahmed Al-Khader and Jowan Murad, have been selected for the Co-Presidency of the Environment Council in North and East Syria, pending approval from the Democratic Peoples’ Council.

The Environment Council of North and East Syria held an organizational meeting attended by the Co-Presidency of the Environment Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, Co-Presidents of the Environment Councils in the districts, and representatives from women’s, energy, health, economy, and environmental security committees. 

During the meeting, the council discussed its organizational status and voted on the candidates for the Co-Presidency of the Environment Council: Rasha Ahmed Al-Khader and Jowan Murad. Their names will be submitted to the Democratic Peoples’ Council for final approval.

 The Environment Authority also reviewed the work of the district environment bodies over the past month. Several proposals were presented to strengthen environmental efforts in the region, including organizing joint workshops with universities to address the water scarcity crisis and discuss solutions.

Additionally, suggestions were made to enhance coordination with other bodies to reduce environmental pollution, combat rising temperatures, and address climate change, which directly impact the environment, public health, and agriculture
