Today, the 16th convoy of residents of Jazira Canton and displaced people from Afrin and Shahba in North and East Syria set out for Tishrin Dam, popularly known as the "Resistance Dam." The convoy is expected to participate in the ongoing protests there since January 8 against the threats and attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

The convoy included dozens of residents from the cities of Tal Tamr, Ad-Darbasiyah, Zerghan, Tal Brak, al-Shaddadi, al-Hol, and al-Hasakah, as well as displaced people from the Afrin and al-Shahba cantons. Participants gathered at the Panorama Roundabout in al-Hasakah city before heading toward the dam located in the eastern countryside of Manbij.

A short while ago, the convoy arrived to a massive welcome from protesters against the dam, chanting "Long live the SDF resistance" and "Long live the dam resistance."

It is worth noting that this convoy is part of a series of popular movements toward the Tishrin Dam. A similar convoy set out on April 9 from the cities of Qamishlo, Amuda, Tal Hamis, and Tirbespiyê in al-Jazira canton.

The Tishrin Dam has been the site of a widespread popular sit-in for more than three months, amid escalating attacks by the Turkish occupation on areas of northeastern Syria, including the bombing of infrastructure and attempts to destabilize security and stability there.
