Mazloum Abdi: Efforts are ongoing to recover all the prisoners

The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces confirmed that efforts are ongoing and being intensified to secure the release of all prisoners during a meeting held with those who have been freed, as well as the families of the detainees and martyrs in Kobani.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, met with the released prisoners, their families, and the families of the martyrs in Kobani city.

During the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the issue of prisoners ranks among the top priorities of the forces, and stressed the continued efforts to reunite all prisoners with their families as soon as possible.

On their part, the families of the detainees demanded to know the fate of their sons and urged the acceleration of procedures for their return. They criticized the Interim Government for its sluggish implementation of prisoner extradition measures, despite the continued work under the January 29th Agreement.

During the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) emphasized that efforts are ongoing and intensive to secure the release of all prisoners. The forces are monitoring this matter on a daily basis and strive to achieve tangible results as soon as possible.

The Commander-in-Chief also met with the families of the martyrs who lost their sons during the January 6th attacks, extending his condolences and sympathy to them. He emphasized the Syrian Democratic Forces' appreciation for their sacrifices and their role in defending the region.

It is worth mentioning that since the beginning of this year, as attacks have been launched  on North and East Syria, 264 civilians and military personnel have been martyred; 120 fighters and civilians from the Kobani region. Furthermore, the bodies of the martyrs have been returned to their families.

Recently, 31 prisoners from the Kobani region were released. They met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, received care and medical treatment, and then returned to carry out their duties within the military forces in the area.

On the other hand, 39 prisoners from the city of Kobani, along with dozens more from Jazira region, remain held by the Interim Government, amid ongoing demands for their release and return to their families.
