In a new statement issued today, the leadership of the Druze community reaffirmed its commitment to all the positions expressed in its previous statements, especially those demanding urgent and immediate international protection due to the deteriorating security situation and the increasing intensity of attacks on villages and towns in As-Suwayda province.

The statement firmly rejected the entry of any security forces — particularly the “General Security” and “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” — into the “areas of the Druze community,” noting that members of these forces entered the administrative borders of As-Suwayda last night under the pretext of “providing protection,” but in reality, “they bombed populated border villages and provided military support to extremist gangs through the use of heavy weapons and drones.”

The leadership emphasized that what occurred constitutes a “direct assault on our people and our land,” and stated that it holds fully accountable any party involved in these operations or attempting to bring security forces into the As-Suwayda region under any pretext.

The statement concluded by renewing the urgent call for international intervention to protect civilians in As-Suwayda, stop the bloodshed of innocents, and halt the machinery of violence that now threatens civil peace and the social fabric of Jabal al-Arab.
