Leader Ocalan presents new proposals for peace process

The Peace Process and Democratic Society initiative in Northern Kurdistan and Turkey has become the main issue on the country's political agenda. Public attention is also focused on the preparation of a legal framework for the process before parliament enters its summer recess.

In this context, the İmralı delegation of the DEM Party held discussions with an AKP delegation in parliament regarding the legal framework. According to information obtained by Welat Agency from DEM Party sources, the party is currently working on a special legal draft concerning the issue.

Following the announcement by the PKK that it had dissolved itself, finding a legal solution to the Kurdish issue has become one of the most prominent topics on the political agenda.

The DEM Party continues consultations regarding the legal amendments required for the process. Available information indicates that the party delegation met with AKP representatives to discuss the legal framework and exchange views on the matter.

Sources from the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party also stated that they are preparing a legal proposal while simultaneously consulting with all political parties. Legal experts are reportedly continuing work on the draft, which will be presented to the public once completed.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan Presented Several Proposals

The information further indicated that during his most recent meeting with the DEM Party delegation, Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan presented several proposals aimed at moving the process forward and bringing it to its final stage.
