Today, the Lawyers Union in the Al-Jazira Canton issued a statement to the public opinion, condemning the massacre of "Al-Mistriha" committed by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, which cussed the martyrdom of 12 civilians, most of them children and women, stating:

"At a time when the Syrians are celebrating the overthrow of a symbol of tyranny and dictatorship and looking forward to a bright future, which heals their wounds, the Turkish occupation army is bombing civilians in Manbij and its countryside, Ain Issa and its countryside and the countryside of Tal Tamr, and today in the morning it committed a massacre, most of whose victims are women and children in the village of Al-Mistriha of Ain Issa, and the Turkish occupation army is trying to occupy other areas of the Syrian geography by continuously targeting the city of Manbij.

The Al-Mistriha massacre coincides with the International Day of "Commemoration and Honour the Victims of Genocide and the Prevention of this Crime", which falls on December 9.

The violations committed and continue to be committed by the Turkish State are full-fledged international criminal crimes, including the crime of aggression, genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, in accordance with the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention, the United Nations Convention on the Prevention of Genocide and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

We, in the Al-Jazira Canton Lawyers Union, condemn these crimes and condemn their perpetrators, and in conjunction with the convening of an emergency session of the Security Council on Syria, call on the Security Council to take a decision to refer Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, his army commanders, his defense minister and his foreign minister to the Hague Tribunal, and we call on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to send the fact-finding committee and the Special Commission of Inquiry on Syria to the region to find out the truth about what is happening.

We also call on all Syrians to take a unified stance against the practices of the Turkish state and defend the land of Syria, as everyone should know that the first step of the Syrian-Syrian agreement is to liberate the territories occupied by the Turkish state and return the forcibly displaced to their areas and redress them."
