The authorities in Turkey continue to follow the system of torture and genocide in Imrali prison against Leader Abdullah Ocalan, for 25 years, and ignore international laws that lead to the release of the leader.

In this context, the co-chair of the Union of Lawyers in North and East Syria, Lawyer Bashira Jamal, explained that defending Leader Abdullah Ocalan is their duty; because he is a political and intellectual leader detained in the prisons of the Turkish occupation and deprived of all his rights.

She added: "Although international and local laws grant the right to release the leader, the Turkish occupation authorities ignore all appeals."

She stressed that they in North and East Syria will continue to defend the leader, calling on human rights organizations to take action to release him.

In her turn, the member of the Syrian Lawyers Initiative to Defend the Leader, lawyer Basem al-Khalaf, pointed out that "defending the leader is a human and legal duty. He is a thinker and politician who calls for freedom and granting women their rights and freeing them from restrictions."

He pointed out that they are all working to end the system of torture and genocide imposed on the leader, and said: "The solution and ensuring dialogue and peace in the region lies in lifting this isolation."

Al-Khalaf stressed that "isolation hinders political solutions in the Middle East, and the leader can transform the military conflict into a political solution, as he expressed in his message that was conveyed by his nephew Omar Ocalan after he met him late last month."

Meanwhile, the co-chair of the Syrian Lawyers Initiative, lawyer Mohammed al-Naimi, pointed out that the peoples of northern and eastern Syria are struggling for the freedom of the leader, which has become a slogan for a global campaign aimed at defending him.

He pointed out that this global campaign has succeeded in breaking the wall of international silence, and the most prominent evidence of this is Omar Ocalan's visit to the leader. He concluded by saying: "This campaign will continue until it achieves its goals of ensuring the freedom of the leader and reaching a peaceful solution."
