Amid the rapid transformations taking place in the region, calls are increasing within the Kurdish street to consolidate national unity as the fundamental guarantee for protecting achievements and enhancing stability. In this context, residents of the city of al-Hasakah spoke to ANHA agency about the importance of unifying the Kurdish ranks at this sensitive stage.

In this regard, Hussein Berri pointed out that at this sensitive stage it is very important for the unity of the Kurdish people to grow stronger. He said: “Because of the attacks being carried out against the Kurdish people and their fighters, the attacks from Sheikh Maqsoud to Rojava in general were a conspiracy aimed at annihilation.”

Berri described the attacks on Rojava as a continuation of the international conspiracy of February 15 against Leader Abdullah Ocalan. He continued: “In 1999, a conspiracy was also carried out against Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and the conspiracy continues to this day. The conspiracy was not only against Leader Apo, but against the entire Kurdish people, because the Leader represents the Kurdish people.”

He added: “At this stage as well, they sought to renew this conspiracy and attack the Kurdish people to break their will and annihilate them. However, the resistance and struggle of the Kurdish people in Rojava, the four parts of Kurdistan, and in Europe are, for the first time, demonstrating a strong unity. We hope that this unity will become even stronger.”

Hussein Berri emphasized that through the unity of the Kurdish people, their strength will also increase, and that it is necessary to convene the Kurdistan National Congress.

For his part, Ahmed Asaad stated that unity is victory, saying: “It has been proven at this stage that the unity of the Kurdish people was a victory for the Kurds. When there was danger and conspiracies were plotted against us, the entire people rose with one spirit, and through their unity they shook the whole world and terrified the Turkish state.”

Ahmed Asaad mentioned that the task of all Kurdish forces and movements is to work for unity. He concluded his remarks with a call, saying: “Let us set aside the grudges and hatred that exist, and let us strengthen our unity.”
